@armaan_sohi@JFreshHockey I didn’t say Larkin was part of the trade. You’re missing the point. Doesn’t matter. He’s not getting traded to the Wild for many reasons. Bookmark it. Come back to it if I’m wrong. But it’s just not happening.
@JeffMStinson@CaptRyanElls@Laf4MVP_ I think Yzerman would rather deal with discomfort than not getting what he thinks is a fair return. He has a history of this. He won’t be held hostage.
@armaan_sohi@JFreshHockey Do you think this nuance makes a lick of difference to Yzerman? Everyone talks about how Guerin was bold and made a great move that Yzerman could’ve made. There’s no chance he’s dealing his captain to that team.
@AleppoAteMyFace@MNState0fHockey@puckempire Not interested in debating this with you. They tried. Doesn’t matter. The point is Larkin’s not going to Minnesota. Come back and laugh at me if I’m wrong.
@Mattymar89 I’m sure Yzerman is just drooling to deal with the Wild despite the fact their assets are depleted and their GM just outmaneuvered him to get Quinn Hughes. Stevey Y’s never been known to be petty or stubborn so this tracks.
@b_launders@NHLRumourReport He has plenty of leverage. Larkin is under contract for 5 years. This isn’t a trade him or watch him walk situation. When Drouin publicly demanded a trade in Tampa, he waited 18 months before doing it. He’s perfectly fine with it being uncomfortable.
@MNSPORTSFAN123@thegoldenmuzzy It is both unlikely to be requested and unlikely to be honored if so. Any discussion otherwise is nonsense. He’s under contract for 5 years. He does not have the leverage to pick a single team.
@JFreshHockey Zero percent chance Yzerman trades him to Minnesota after Guerin swooped in a stole Hughes out from under his nose. Only way that happens is if the offer is overwhelming and the Wild don’t have the pieces to make that kind of offer.
@LalimesMartian Incorrect. Tkachuk didn’t have a NMC. He did not request a trade. He informed the Flames a year before his contract expired that he would not be extending. He informed them where he would be willing to extend so they could get the best return. They could’ve trade him anywhere.
@Laurentdalmeida@mukmuk0001 We don’t even know they he’d waive to go to Minnesota. I’m not sure why he would when Hughes will be gone in a year anyway. By the way, here’s the last guy who requested a trade from Yzerman. He got it. A year and a half later.
@BradKrysko I’m seeing people think Larkin would only waive for the Wild. It’s crazy. Let’s not forget Yzerman just got completely outplayed by BG for Hughes. I’m sure he’s going to risk getting humiliated again by accepting a bad contract, 3rd liner, goalie & mid tier prospect for Larkin.
