Members took a trip with our employment coaches up to the West Charleston Library to learn about their free classes, resources, and to get signed up for library cards. Our Library District offers way more than book rentals! A library card gives residents access to podcasts, 3D printing, employment resources, art and computer classes, and more!

Our employment program manager, Berto, stopped by this week to refill the Anonymous Support Kits and congratulate them on this achievement. Another peer recovery coach training academy is in the books! Last week we welcomed a new cohort of incredibly talented and compassionate people in recovery who are leaving the academy with new skills to coach and support others on their recovery journey. We’re working to close the behavioral health workforce shortage in Nevada.

WE are not defined by our mental illness, addiction, or past incarceration - WE advocate, support, and educate to help the next person and bring awareness that recovery is possible 📣 Next step is the 500 hour supervised internship, state exam, and then board certification. Congratulations! Go forth and do good.

Almost daily our canvassing team engages with households and communities in Southern Nevada to distribute overdose prevention tools and behavioral health resources. This year alone we’ve knocked on over 64,000 doors. 🩵

Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming two of our members to speak at the Friday night circle. Angelica and Bret first joined the Clubhouse in December 2024 seeking a supportive community and housing assistance.

It was inspiring to hear their stories, reflect on how far they have come, and celebrate their achievements. Through hard work, determination, and commitment to their recovery journeys, both members have graduated from college and are starting new careers.

Watching our members overcome obstacles, achieve personal goals, and build brighter futures is exactly why we exist. We know that with access to healthcare, housing, and recovery sustainments we can and do recover. Every individual has the ability and the right to recover from the traumas of addiction.

We are incredibly proud and honored to have been a small part of their journey. Congratulations on this well deserved accomplishment we look forward to seeing all the amazing things your future holds!

Take the first step towards becoming a state certified Peer Recovery Specialist in Nevada with this upcoming training program.

Peer recovery specialists use their life experiences and specialized training to provide mentorship, coaching, and support to other individuals on their recovery journey. Throughout this week-long training you’ll learn key skills like motivational interviewing techniques, documentation and case notes, group facilitation, the role of peers and history of the peer workforce, confidentiality laws, and developing recovery plans.

✅ OSHA-10 and Forklift Certification done! Next step, employment. Clubhouse members enrolled in our 12-week supported employment program completed their workplace safety training and got warehouse experience in this week’s workshop. We all went out for a little lunch afterward to celebrate!

Recovery Works is a hands-on employment training and placement program for members of our Clubhouse. Jacquin Webb, Executive Director of Northern Nevada nonprofit Reconnect 180, visited our Recovery Clubhouse on his recent trip to #LasVegas to expand their programs and services. Reconnect 180 is on a mission to transform the reentry process for men and women leaving incarceration in Nevada. Their flagship 90/90 program offers 90 days of pre-release support with ongoing connections to employment and housing following release.

Oh, and did we mention that they’re a Recovery Friendly Workplace?

And that’s a wrap! 🎓 This week, students at our new Henderson office on Water Street officially completed the Peer Recovery Coach Academy and we couldn’t be more proud. 👏 👏 👏

These graduates are on their way to becoming state certified Peer Recovery Coaches. Next up: completing their internship hours and sitting for the state exam.

Peer Recovery Coaches draw on their own lived experience with substance use or mental health recovery, combined with specialized training, to support, mentor, and advocate for others on their recovery journey.

We’re excited to watch this group step into the behavioral health field and make a meaningful impact in our community. 💙
