The legislative session is over, but our fights continue ✊
Help us fight for laws and win elections that put the power back in the hands of everyday people.

If you dread getting your Central Hudson bill every month, you’re not alone!
We’re organizing to take over Central Hudson and replace it with the Hudson Valley Power Authority, a publicly-owned and democratically-controlled utility with cheaper rates and cleaner energy ⚡
The REST Act has momentum because New Yorkers in every region of the state are facing a housing crisis.
Right now the legislature has an opportunity to act to make rents more affordable.
Pass REST this week to give tenants the relief we deserve.
Today is the first day of our Summer Fundraising Drive and we’ve set a goal of raising $150,000 by MONDAY! 💥💪🔥💸
The money we raise this week will make sure we have the staff, space, technology, and tools we need to win.

Upstate cities should be able to opt into rent stabilization so we can prevent massive rent hikes and homelessness just like NYC. @sarahana & @michelehirsch9 explain why we need @NYSA_Majority to make it possible by passing the REST Act now.

Tenants deserve a REST! Our bill to empower localities outside NYC to opt into rent stabilization has passed the Housing and Codes committees in the Assembly.
Rent stabilization allows families to remain in their communities, but localities outside NYC have been unable to benefit from such protections.
Proud to pass @sarahana’s #RESTAct through the Assembly Housing Committee to provide a common-sense path for localities to opt in.
📢Renters in Albany, Buffalo, Kingston, Ithaca, Rochester & Syracuse face high rent burdens and rising costs.
The REST Act would give local officials the power to step in and stabilize rents before more families are displaced.

At our Rental Ripoff Hearings, we’ll come together as neighbors to bring the issues we’ve faced out in the open and build momentum for the REST Act, which will expand our rent stabilization laws so it’s easier for cities to adopt it and freeze the rent.
‼️ TOMORROW, the Ulster County Legislature is hosting a public hearing to consider banning ICE agents from wearing face coverings ‼️ We need to show up and testify in support to stop ICE agents from terrorizing our communities.

Upstate cities have the legal right to opt into rent stabilization but face an unnecessarily high barrier to opt in. We rallied tenants from across the the state to pass my bill, the REST Act (A04877), that gives localities outside of NYC more control to stabilize rents.
Join me and @SenatorHinchey on Monday at 6 pm for a free screening of the most inspiring film I’ve seen all year, Teenage Wasteland!

New York can protect up to 10 million tenants by passing this bill—but we need to get it done before the end of this year’s legislative session ⏰
‼️ We need all hands on deck. Email key legislators to demand they pass REST before June 4th: https://t.co/7xbUzLxguA
Tenants deserve REST! 🗣️
We rallied in Albany yesterday with tenants from around the state to demand our lawmakers pass the REST Act, which would expand New York’s rent stabilization laws so it’s easier for towns and cities across the state to adopt it.
