After the turmoil of 1925, and the heartbreak of 1926, this series victory must mean the world to Ruth and Huggins.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

Ruth may be the happiest of all, as his voice is bellowing over everyone else's joyous screams.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

I'm in the Yankee clubhouse now and it is a raucous scene. Don't think I'll ever see Huggins smile this much ever again.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

The Pirates fought valiantly, but just couldn't stop this team. Only the 2nd time a team has been swept in four games (1st was 1914 Braves)

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

After such a dramatic season, it seems odd for it to end on a wild pitch. But baseball is funny like that sometimes.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

WHAT AN ENDING! Miljus strikes out two with the bases loaded, and then throws one high and wide to Lazzeri, giving the Yankees the win

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

WILD PITCH! COMBS SCORES AND THE YANKEES ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

Miljus strikes out Meusel! Now there are two out and Lazzeri is up. Could we be seeing one of the greatest escapes since Houdini?

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

Gehrig strikes out with the bases loaded and with a chance to win the series for the Yanks. The slumping Bob Muesel now comes to the plate.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

After Miljus threw a wild pitch, he intentionally walks Ruth, much to the dismay of the fans and the Babe himself. It's now Gehrig's turn.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

With runners at 1st and 2nd and no out, Ruth steps up to the plate looking to end this historic season with a bang. Or a blast

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

We go to the bottom of the 9th with the score tied 3-3, as the Yankees look to clinch their second title. Ruth is due up third.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

Pitching change for PIT, Johnny Miljus has entered the game to replace Carmen Hill. #1927WorldSeries

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

Don't celebrate quite yet: Errors by Moore and Lazzeri have allowed the Pirates to tie the score at 3-3 in the 7th

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

The Yankee Stadium fans are throwing their hat and shredded paper in celebration. They can sense a World Series title.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

ANOTHER ONE FOR THE BABE! A towering shot to right puts the Yankees ahead 3-1.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

That lead didn't last long. Ruth singles home Combs to tie the score 1-1 here in the bottom of the first.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

For just the 2nd time this series, the Pirates have a lead. Now comes the question of if they can hold it.

[Ford Frick @FordFrick]

With a chance to close out the series, Huggins has turned to Game 1 hero Wilcy Moore.

The rain this morning looks to have scared some fans away. Not nearly as many fans here at this time as there was yesterday
