#OTD French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing visited the White House on May 17, 1976 to present his nation’s Bicentennial gift to President Ford. France gave the U.S. an antique 18th-century printing press set up to print copies of the Declaration of Independence. NAID 12004821

#OTD, May 15, 1976, President Ford, First Lady Betty Ford and their daughter Susan visited the Tulip Time Festival in Holland, Michigan.
Susan acted as the Honorary Grand Marshall for the Parade of Bands and the city of Holland gifted personalized wooden clogs to Betty and Susan.
