Yesterday our lab participated in an arbor day event at KPNC. We were able to teach attendees about our research on forest health and our Sentinel garden plots. It was a great time!
Enjoyed our time at the 2025 Land Tour today. Grateful for everyone who organized this event and all who attended. It is always a great time being in the woods and educating others on various forest health topics. #RootsInResearch#BranchesInCommunity
We had a great start to the week! Professor Brett Hurley from the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI) came to visit! We visited a field site with redbay ambrosia beetle in sassafras and BSNB on longleaf. Of course we had to stop at buc-ee’s!!
Congratulations to Emmanuel for successfully defending his master’s thesis today! It has been great having him in the lab for the past 2 years and we know he will continue to do amazing things in his future! #AUCFWE

Thank you for your time and support!
1/We’re excited to share our survey on trees and shrubs that could potentially be planted in our sentinel garden. Your insights are incredibly valuable, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to complete the survey.
2/Additionally, we’d be grateful if you could share this survey with foresters, arborists, or anyone you know who is passionate about Alabama’s forests. We want as many people who are invested in Alabama forests as possible to take this survey.
We had a lot of fun today showing what we do in our lab to students from the Junior High Ag Program at Central Clay High School! Always a great day to share our knowledge to future students🧫🧬🔬🥼
Our lab is looking for a Research Assistant! If you know of anyone interested or looking, please share and encourage them to apply at the link below! 🌲🥼🧫
