𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan administered the oathtaking today (March 19) of the incoming Executive Member of the National Innovation Council (NIC-EM), Ms. Famida A. Alonto, and the newly appointed Director IV of the DEPDev Information and Communications Technology Staff (ICTS), Mr. Bernard N. Layon, at the DEPDev Office in Mandaluyong City.

Ms. Alonto assumed the role following a nomination and selection process initiated by the NIC Secretariat in the fourth quarter of 2025. Chaired by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., the National Innovation Council is composed of 18 ex-officio government members and seven (7) executive members representing the business sector, entrepreneurs, academe, and the scientific community, all working together to drive the country’s innovation agenda.

Meanwhile, Director Layon has been with DEPDev since 2016. Prior to being a full-fledged Director, he served as a Computer Programmer, Information Systems Analyst, and Information Technology Officer in the agency.

Families and parkgoers filled the Club Intramuros Golf Course on Sunday, February 22, taking advantage of the open greens for leisure and family time, according to a post by the Intramuros Administration.

The agency said the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) opens the course to the public every Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing a space for wellness and outdoor recreation within the historic walls of Intramuros.
