@0FTHETARDlS Brilliant thing about Evie- she never lies. Not at this age anyway. If she doesn't want to answer a question for fear of repercussions, she'll just go silent.
"No!" she insists with a giggle, nuzzling her cheek against hers. "You really are."
@0FTHETARDlS "I already have," she replies, finally opening her eyes to look at her mother as they talk.
It's only then that she remembers grandad did tell her to not to mention the fact that she's ranking her family members, so she's quick to say something- sort of- comforting.
"You're +
@0FTHETARDlS "I don't think so," Evie disagrees, and rather firmly too. Young, and perhaps doesn't see a lot herself, but she's strong willed. And stubborn. Very, very stubborn.
"I think he's just the knows things type of clever. Grandad sees both though. So he's the most clever."
Ah. +
@0FTHETARDlS Evie's very happy being held so close, eyes shutting to provide a bit more regulation for herself as she focuses in on the sound of her mother's voice.
She's starting to talk more; it's clearly working.
"He's only a little bit clever," Evie comments. "I think there's a lot he +
@0FTHETARDlS She goes very still as she's shifted, fingers clinging on tighter to her mother's arm as if she's worried she's about to be let go off.
She relaxes when the rocking begins.
"Dad's silly," she replies with a small giggle, starting to perk up a little. "Sometimes too silly."
@0FTHETARDlS Slowly, she starts to try and rock herself in her arms, encouraging her to sway. It soothes her.
"I don't think we're really doing much right now, but I like it," she confesses, trying to word her gratitude. There's a part of her that feels bad as she's started to notice +
@0FTHETARDlS She wants to be close to her. She wants to be held tight. Shuffling close, she leans her head against her chest and wraps her arms around hers to keep them tight in place. A lot of the times she's much better at showing her needs than actually saying them.
"Okay. I'll try and +
@0FTHETARDlS If she found it silly, Evie wouldn't quite notice. Her mind's running at full speed so there's a lot that's not quite going in.
"I can try," Evie admits, shuffling a little closer to initiate a hug. "But sometimes when everything's too busy it's too hard to move. Or think +
@0FTHETARDlS Her fists continue to rub at her eyes to hide the blurry bulbs of light that are appearing in her daze, until she senses her mother back. Slowly, she opens her eyes, blinking.
"I think the world is still a bit too busy, and there's still a little too much going on, but this +
