People don't say obedience is required. God says obedience is required. There is no faith without obedience. A disobedient person lacks true faith. If I tell you that a tornado is coming straight for your house and you have faith that what I'm telling you is true, what will you do? You will leave or seek shelter immediately. If you lack faith, you will stay and see what happens. If you say you have faith in me, but do nothing, your faith is dead. It can't save you when the storm arrives. God's judgment is the storm.
@sheik_ilderim@DennisBowden18 Jesus humbled Himself by leaving heaven, coming to earth, living as a human, and dying by the hands of the same people He came to save. He could have called 10,000 angels and saved Himself but He chose to die for you and I.
@notabreadliner@joshwhitlatch If you're living life how you want, you are not living life how Jesus wants. That's dangerous. 1 John 1:5-7, John 8:12, Ephesians 5:8. Show me where those verses tell you to live how "you" want.
@joshwhitlatch It's not about being obedient "enough." It's about submission. 1 John 1:7 - “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” There is a big "if" in that verse. Choose wisely.
Real love isn't a feeling. It's a discipline.
Patient. Kind. Not envious. Not arrogant.
With Father's Day this Sunday — this is the love the best dads quietly show every day.
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant." — 1 Corinthians 13:4 ESV

@needGod_net Genuine faith is not just intellectual belief or words—it must produce action. Faith apart from works is dead. Works alone is dead. Can we agree on both premises?
@Machi1Nne This doesn't sound anti-women:
“In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”
Ephesians 5:28 ESV
@needGod_net 2 Corinthians 5:15: "And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." If a person continues to live for him or herself, are they lost?
I didn't find any evidence for apostolic succession in this verses. As a matter of fact, I saw the true organization of the local church taking shape. Elders in every town, or every church, in other words. A plurality of local church leaders. Can you provide a verse that shows an example of church organization beyond the local elders?
@smfoushee@Xtopher_Uzo The NT plan is for each local church to be autonomous and led by a plurality of elders. If you'd like, I can share the verses that teach us this.
The most important thing you'll ever build isn't a career or a legacy of accomplishments.
It's the heart of your child.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6 ESV
