@MFollowill I remember the “who will start?” debate at the time between him and Steve Nash being a very real thing (at least in the SportsDay pages of DMN).
Fun memories.
Maybe it changed later, but I was at Hero Saturday night with my wife prior to seeing a comedian at the AAC. It was during the first quarter of mavs wizards and not a single tv in the place was on the Mavs game. That felt very odd but also very fitting. Changes are needed.
@Tyler2011Champs I’m not going this weekend. Just feels off and I’m not going to spend 4+ hours on something I’m genuinely not enjoying. Found a taker for my tickets and just going to take my wife out elsewhere.
@All_Things_Mavs The 2009 Mavs, in Carlisle’s first year, also started 2-7. They eventually won 50 games and made it to the second round.
I do not see that happening again.
@Tyler2011Champs I have tickets next weekend vs Portland and I’m not even sure why I’m going. Just not fun at all.
I watched spurs rockets last night instead. Much more enjoyable.
October 11, 1984: A preseason game between the Mavs and 76ers at Reunion Arena in Dallas is cancelled with 3:19 to go in the first quarter due to "an over-waxed floor."
Philadelphia led 22-14 when the game was stopped.

@FrostyBias I think I’ve told you this, but I have the same figurine and once placed it in the shower next to my wife’s shampoo bottle and waited for her notice…
Good morning! My cover story on Dirk Nowitzki is now online. TV, life after retirement, the Mavs, Harvard business school, secret hoops training sessions, the next Nowitzki hooper, Dirk playing jazz flute -- it's all in here. I hope you enjoy.

Hey, hi, hello. I profiled Dirk Nowitzki for the cover of our October issue, and we talked about everything from TV to taking business classes to the Mavs.
Also, we got him to dress up like Ron Burgundy. Here is visual proof.
Go buy a copy! I can't wait for you to read it.
@treykerby He lit up the Bulls in Chicago once too, shortly before the Warriors game. I was so excited about him. Injuries hit him hard after that rookie year.
@jeskeets His last NBA game was funny. He needed one more three to get to 800 career threes as a Sun. He kept missing all night and in the final minute of the game his final attempt took a miracle bounce and fell in. He then did pushups on the court.
@MikeInChicago_ Just saw this question while looking for this surgery pic.
But yes, very happy. It took about 4-5 months to fully recover but to be pain free, playing basketball again, playing with my kids on the floor, has been worth it completely. I was really struggling leading up to it.
Knee surgery was a success this morning. Apparently in recovery I just talked about how much I love my wife and kids.
Glad I wasn’t rambling about Antoine Rigaudeau
