Anyone else having trouble renewing their @GlasgowWarriors season tickets? My son's account was locked and despite getting sent a password reset which spoiler alert just didn't work!
@heraldscotland Like it or not this is a critical piece of infrastructure. The road network runs through & around the city. What are people and businesses located to West, South and East expected to do if they have to get themselves or goods across the area? Public transport isn't always viable
@gmhales Parallels with public order. GB police not allowed watercannons or high capacity OC. Then complaints from politicians, activists and some parts of the public when cops go hands on.
@wallaceme Yes happens all the time, probably worse in London and other cities in England but have experienced it up here too. Few years ago on leave in London assisted off duty with detaining female shoplifter, had scissors, brandished them at security &cut 1 cop. Usual shouts from crowd
“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.”
Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.
@west_response I've kicked someone, I've tried to drive my baton (even did it with a wooden one)through skulls to disarm people. Do whatever you need to do to keep the public and yourself safe. Feds will pay for lawyers but can't pay for someone to resurrect you
@apoliticaleye@metpoliceuk I'm retired and in current job I have to swipe in and out. I'm also no longer required to carry a switched on works mobile phone with GPS or an Airwave device with GPS/ARL. I'm also no longer expected to attend immediate response calls on blues and twos. But sure fire safety
@starbuck24601@nuwandiss Interesting. Never had to work with this north of the border. Also I have retired and the relevance of my experience leaches away daily.
