Final job was a high risk missing person. After spending a lot of time getting information and checking places etc just as we finish doing all that we get a call to say the person has been arrested in another force for unrelated offences.

He stated that he was leaning against the window and doesn’t have a phone. His phone then goes off, he cancels the call and texts the person back whilst in the stand. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Magistrates find him guilty.
£350 in fines and a 6 month ban.

So the chap showed up to his sentencing and wasn’t happy and to cut a long story short myself and SC Nick now have to go to court again for this. To say I am happy about this would be a lie 🤦🏻‍♂️

Have been back. I have evidence. The defendant then turns up (very late) and convinces the magistrates to bear him and his story. They let him speak...

In court today. After waiting for several hours I have just been told that the person went guilty last week and nobody updated the court or me of this 🤦🏻‍♂️

@ian_gow @NorthantsChief @KatieMagnet Not long ago some youths in balaclavas decamped from a vehicle outside my house with what appeared to be weapons. I was having a cup of tea. I didn’t sit passively. I went after them. I guarantee that every other cop would do the same whether on duty or off. We all want it better

@HarboroAbbo @NorthantsChief Trapped? It’s them who choose to do those speeds. I assume you have never been to a crash and had to deal with the aftermath and go and tell someone their loved one has died then get asked questions about it?

The defendant didn’t show up however was found guilty in their absence. Sentencing adjourned for a few weeks as the defendant is looking at getting disqualified!
