The recent snow helped us discover at least one visitor to the park grounds that we don’t usually see. We specialize in history, not wildlife. After a bit of internet research, we think these are bird, squirrel, and raccoon tracks.

Deputy US Marshal John Zeke was at the Ft. Gibson train depot attempting to arrest a suspect involved in a train robbery. Teamsters interfered with the arrest, and Zeke was shot. The men involved escaped. #KillInTheLineOfDuty#ThisDayInHistory#USMarshalService

Two temporary positions are available - one opening at Fort Smith and one at Pea Ridge National Military Park.
Tasks associated with this position may include landscape restoration, trail maintenance, and ground/building care.

Graffiti report-
On Saturday April 7th graffiti was discovered on the south end of the Frisco Train Depot. The Building was built in 1903. If you have any information about this graffiti please contact the Fort Smith Police Department.
