The month of May was full of wonderful memories for Fort Wayne Football Club, which opened Ruoff Mortgage Stadium and climbed the USL League One standings.
But no moment was bigger than Jack Thomas’ stoppage time goal against USL Championship-side Indy Eleven in the first ever meeting between the Hoosier clubs on May 16.
Thomas’ goal is the Play of the Month, presented by Maid Perfect Cleaning. It captured a point for Fort Wayne FC in the Prinx Tires USL Cup match, though Indy Eleven got the extra point in penalty kicks, but more than anything it was a statement by the Autumn Gold & Black – we’re formidable. Good on you, Jack Thomas.
Fort Wayne Football Club had a big month of May, emerging with a 3-0-3 record in USL League One play and taking USL Championship-side Indy Eleven all the way to penalty kicks in a Prinx Tires USL Cup match.
Taig Healy was a huge part of it – netting goals in 5 of 7 matches – and has therefore been selected as the Olympia Pools & Spas Player of the Month.
Healy, 22 and in his first season of professional soccer, is tied for second in USL League One goal scoring with five – three from inside the box and two from outside. He’s also unleashed 17 shots, 12thmost in the league.
In Taig, we trust!

Michael Rempel was the Fort Wayne Football Club Man of the Match on Saturday night, when the Autumn Gold & Black extended their unbeaten streak to 7 matches in USL League One play.
In a scoreless draw with AV Alta FC, Rempel completed 90.4% of his passes, created three scoring chances, intercepted an opposing attacking opportunity, and was just seemingly everywhere. Nice!
