What is a Sacrament?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1131):
“The sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us.”
The Seven Sacraments and Their Biblical Foundations
Baptism – Cleanses from sin and gives new life in Christ.

Confirmation – Strengthens believers with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Eucharist – The true Body and Blood of Christ.

Penance (Confession) – Restores us to God’s grace through the forgiveness of sins.

Anointing of the Sick – Gives spiritual strength, healing, and forgiveness to the sick.

Holy Orders – Ordains men to serve the Church as deacons, priests, and bishops.

Matrimony – Unites a man and a woman in a lifelong covenant reflecting Christ’s love for the Church.
