Okay, so I’m in Ghana with YAALI & I just want to take the time to reiterate this sentiment I’ve held since HS: Africans in the diaspora should all make an attempt to visit Africa in their lifetime. I’m failing to put the significance of this experience into words.
Iran doesn't need it because they have access to Chinese satellites.
So the only reason the US gov is doing this is because they don't want YOU to know how much Iranian missiles and drones have wreaked havoc on US military bases
“we’re not angry enough” is off. it’s more that we aren’t organized enough. what is anger with nowhere to go? nothing to do? we won’t spontaneously combust our way out of what’s to come. what’s already here. take the fact of yesterday on the chin. build today, for tomorrow.
Please, read books. Not just captions, or carousel posts, or what made it to the top of your feed. Read books. Long ones. Complex ones. You cannot build a mind with weight on the back of social media ephemerals. Intellectual depth demands patience.
I urge every African to read these 2 books so we can at least develop a shared understanding of the concept of African colonization & most particularly Neo-colonialism.
This thing of always sizing ourselves up against Asian countries is crippling our critical thinking.
The deconstruction of Grenfell Tower has begun. Thinking of all the people who will be affected & how difficult this will be for them. They still await justice for the 72 people who died as a result of of greed and dishonesty.
Happy Black History Month. In honour of the start of BHM I want to highlight Black bookshops. First up is New Beacon Books, the UK’s 1st Black bookshop. In 2021, owners said they’d be closing down due to financial pressures but then over £70k was raised to keep them open 🙌🏾
