Let us continue to create awareness about Cancer in our society. Many of the deaths we attribute to spiritual forces in Nigeria may just be cancer. Prostate cancer for example is a leading cause of male deaths. Yet awareness about it is significantly low. Speak up!

"Governance failures compounded the crisis. Faced with popular discontent, the Maduro regime responded not with accountability but with repression. Political opponents were jailed, civil liberties curtailed, and elections—including the widely condemned 2018 and 2024 polls—were reduced to hollow rituals. Protests were met with lethal force: in 2017 alone, 125 demonstrators were killed, while post-2024 crackdowns left dozens dead and more than 2,400 detained. The judiciary, packed with loyalists since 2004, lost all independence, becoming an instrument of regime survival rather than justice. Security forces and pro-government militias operated with impunity, shredding the remnants of state legitimacy.
Maduro framed this collapse as heroic resistance to “U.S. imperialism.” The reality was far starker: a leadership that prioritized its own survival over stewardship of the nation, transforming a once-vibrant democracy into a humanitarian disaster zone"
"This collapse is rarely sudden. It unfolds gradually through the erosion of political legitimacy and the systematic breach of the social contract. Institutions meant to protect citizens and enforce the rule of law are hollowed out, repurposed for regime survival, or abandoned to elite predation. What follows is not disorder alone, but the transformation of the state itself—from guardian to predator."
"State stability rests on a self-reinforcing triangle: legitimacy, the social contract, and institutional strength. Effective institutions deliver public goods; those goods sustain the social contract; and the fulfillment of the contract generates legitimacy. When one pillar collapses, the entire structure is compromised.
Legitimacy itself has multiple dimensions. Max Weber defined the state by its monopoly on the legitimate use of force, but sociological traditions emphasize moral authority and social cohesion. In functional states, coercive power and moral authority coexist. In failing states, force is retained while legitimacy evaporates. The state becomes predatory, using violence not to protect society but to suppress it. " -- @steve_azaiki
Lessons from Davido's Appearance on Carter Efe's Live Stream
The recent appearance of Davido on Carter Efe’s live stream offers a clear and timely lesson for everyone, especially fans. It reminds us that blind loyalty often comes at a cost. We should never make enemies simply because we admire someone else.
#CarterEfe was once one of the loudest members of Wizkid Fan Club (FC). His support was public and intense. He even released a song, Machala, as a tribute to Wizkid. In the process, he adopted the rivalries of the fan base. He attacked others online and drew battle lines that were never truly his to fight. Yet, despite all the noise and loyalty, the artist he defended so fiercely never acknowledged him. Not once.
Life has a way of teaching hard truths. The same Davido that Carter Efe openly opposed is now the person who has boosted his visibility. Davido’s appearance on his live stream translated into massive attention, high streaming numbers, and real revenue. Support came from the very corner he once rejected. That single moment achieved what years of aggressive fandom did not.
The message is simple. Admiration should not turn into hostility. Being a fan does not require inheriting conflicts that bring no personal benefit. Celebrities will always pursue their own interests. Fans are often forgotten once the noise dies down. Loyalty without wisdom leaves people exposed.
Support who you admire, but keep your dignity and independence intact. Respect others, even those you do not follow. In the end, bridges build opportunities, while unnecessary enemies only limit them. Be like Poko Lee, who is cool with all Camps.
For context, Davido on Carter Efe’s stream has changed his life!
As a result of David's appearance, Carter has overtaken Shank to become Africa’s most followed streamer on Twitch with 401k followers, while Shank has 231k. He gained more than 200k followers in the course of his stream with Davido.
Yesterday Carter broke the record for the most watched Twitch Live stream in Africa with 83,000 viewers on his live stream with Davido.
He is now the first African streamer to surpass 20,000 subscribers on Twitch.
Davido called the Martell organisation on stream and asked them to give Carter a deal, and they agreed immediately.

NCDMB Unveils $100m Equity Investment Scheme as Nigerian Content Hits 61% in 2025
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has unveiled a $100 million Equity Investment Scheme among a raft of fresh initiatives to bolster indigenous capacity and participation in the oil and gas industry.
The Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe announced this in a keynote address he delivered at the opening day of the 14th Practical Nigerian Content Forum, which ended on Thursday.
The capacity audience included three ministers of state, members of the Local Content Committees of the National Assembly, a representative of the Bayelsa State Governor, Special Adviser to the President on Energy, two former Executive Secretaries of the NCDMB, Managing Director, Bank of Industry, and captains of the oil and gas industry.
According to Engr. Ogbe, the $100 million Equity Investment Scheme would “provide equity financing to high-growth indigenous energy service companies, while diversifying the income base of the Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF).”
In furtherance of the $100 million Equity Investment Scheme, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at the event between Engr. Ogbe and the Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, toward management of the scheme, which is a new product of the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCI Fund).
The NCDMB boss also announced that 61 per cent Nigerian Content level already attained in the oil and gas sector by the third quarter of 2025 from the projects being monitored by the Board.
Another major announcement was the Board’s readiness to onboard a new set of Project 100 Companies after the successful implementation of approved interventions relating to the first set of Project 100 Companies, launched in 2019, for which an exit plan is slated for April 2026.
Project 100 Companies is an initiative of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the NCDMB under which 100 indigenous companies in the oil and gas industry are nurtured and empowered to higher levels of competitiveness through capacity building and access to market opportunities.
He also said the Board has concluded plans to launch its NCDMB Technology Challenge in the first quarter of 2026 and to hold a Research and Development Fair in the second quarter of 2026. In addition, a review of the Board’s seven current guidelines is to be undertaken between the first and second quarter of 2015.
Engr. Ogbe further disclosed that the Board has completed the framework for issuance of NCDF Compliance Certificate, an instrument to confirm that a company in the oil and gas industry has complied with the one per cent remittance obligations. The Certificate will become effective on Ist January 2026 and would be required to obtain key permits and approvals from the Board.
Among recent accomplishments of the Board announced by the NCDMB boss was the expansion of access to community contractors under the Community Contractors Scheme, with over 94 disbursements made in 2025 alone.
In addition, the Nigerian Content Academy has commenced operation as a full-fledged division of the Board, with seven of its Lecture Series on key industry issues already organised.
On human capacity development (HCD), the NCDMB has rolled out its Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Programme for top 10 skills in high demand, on the back of the surge in final investment decisions (FIDs) on big-ticket projects in the oil and gas industry and over 20 Field Development Plans recently approved by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
The Programme is to ensure availability of indigenous technical capacity at the take-off of the projects.
The Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum 2025 is officially underway.
In her welcome address delivered on behalf of DMG Nigeria Events Limited and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Wemimo Oyelana warmly received all delegates to the 14th Practical Nigerian Content Forum.
She highlighted that “This year’s gathering comes as Nigeria marks 15 years of the NOGIC Act, a transformative policy that has raised local content from 5% to 56%, strengthened indigenous capacity, and expanded opportunities across the entire oil and gas value chain.”
Speaking further, she noted that the PNC 2025 theme, “Securing Investments, Strengthening Local Content, and Scaling Energy Production”, reflects a shared national mission to unlock capital, drive production growth, and convert increased local participation into sustainable economic impact.
She also extended sincere appreciation to the Government of Bayelsa State, as well as all partners, sponsors, speakers, delegates, and media stakeholders whose continued support enhances the reach and relevance of the PNC Forum.

An extraordinary & very significant success. A major step forward in the fight against terrorism. Congratulations to the security agencies & officers involved under the leadership of NSA Ribadu.
"There is no social action which would not contain at least a trace of this desire to make one’s own person prevail against others. It is this ubiquity of the desire for power which in turn constitutes the ubiquity of evil in human action. Here is the element of corruption and of sin which injects even into the best of intentions at least a drop of evil and thus spoils it. It turns religious organizations into political organizations, love for one’s country into imperialism, the striving for equality into the destruction of liberty, revolutions into dictatorships, and the desire for liberty into the denial of justice. It is this universality of evil in human action which makes it impossible for any social order to achieve the harmony between individual freedom and social order, or between liberty and equality, toward which every society must strive." - Morgenthau, H. J. (1946). Scientific man versus power politics. University of Chicago Press. (p. 193)

The British High Commission Nigeria mourns the passing of the former President, HE General Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
Our condolences go out to his family, the people of Nigeria, and the Nigerian government.
How is it that the wife of a King is a queen and the wife of a Landlord is a Landlady, but the husband of a queen is not a King and the husband of a Landlady is not a Landlord?
Let it be remembered and never forgotten that Chelsea FC won the FIFA Club World Cup without a shirt sponsor. If this does not motivate you to believe in yourself, nothing else would.
A sage advised me: Avoid debating with fools, particularly those driven by the zero-sum variant of Nigerian politics, as observers from afar cannot discern who is who.
