What an incredible success story, showing what can be done when we mobilize and focus resources. Congratulations to @anilainyyc@RajanJSaw and all the people who worked so hard on this! https://t.co/QsWbIIGJ6I
Nov 8 is Aboriginal Veteran's Day. Did you know Indigenous Vets were not allowed to lay a wreath on their own behave at the National War monument until 1996? Engage, reach out and tell our veterans they are enough and Canada supports what they did for everyone.
This month as we mark Remembrance Day, join us to honour those who have served so bravely in war and in peace. Métis Crossing is proud to highlight the bravery and sacrifice of our Métis Veterans with our Métis Veterans Monument.

This Indigenous People’s Day I am proud to celebrate the rich traditions and resilience of Indigenous Communities. As @Interior works to honor our nation-to-nation promises, it is more important than ever to recognize Indigenous Peoples as the first stewards of this land.
Prior to this upcoming #yycelection, only 3 of 15 #YYC City Councillors were women, yet women comprise 50% of Calgary’s population. We need to shift this. Thanks @Withers4Ward9 for your valuable insights what on a #FeministCity looks like: https://t.co/G7SqMTodXq
Many mixed feelings on today’s #TruthandReconciliationDay. Feeling humbled by my Indigenous friends who continue to offer emotional labour for Canadians to learn our history. Feeling grateful that my country is finally waking up. #everychildmatters https://t.co/bnU5ThwvcU
Had a great morning at the Authentically Indigenous Craft Show And Marketplace - what a great haul of beautiful locally made art & jewelry!
The Market is open until 5pm today, so if you’re in #YYC, head on down to the @KerbyCentre to check it out!!

ITK extends its deepest congratulations to Mary Simon, Canada’s first Indigenous Governor General! Mary has served Inuit and Canada in many distinguished roles, including as President of ITK. We wish her extraordinary success in her role at this critical time in our history.
Enjoying watching the livestreamed opening ceremony for Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary. Thanks @aawc_info for putting on this important event in our community! #NIPDCanada#yyc#yyccc#IGPYYC
Thanks @TEDxYYC for hosting this afternoon’s event! The yoga was so appreciated and I was humbled to support with a meditation to help reimagine Calgary. #reimagine#yyc
