Having seen the infamous 47-minute compilation of the 7 Oct atrocities with my own eyes (not publicly available), I can attest that the Silenced No More report, which is freely available online, is even worse. It's just words on a page, but it leaves enough to the imagination to be even more horrific than the video. At least for me.

In the 47-minute compilation, there is some evidence of sexual sadism, but not much. Probably for two reasons: proud though Hamas was of massacring Jews, they were less keen on broadcasting scenes of sexual depravity. And the Israeli government likely declined to include the most horrific footage out of respect for the victims.

The report is exhaustively documented, horror story after horror story. I've read it only once, and I won't do so again. Especially the sections about the Nova festival are extremely disturbing. So I asked Claude to summarize the documented patterns in the report:

- Rape and gang rape, with victims passed between attackers in sequence, witnesses describing laughter throughout
- Targeted gunshots to groin, abdomen, buttocks and face; genital mutilation of both women and men
- Rape followed by execution—victims shot or stabbed immediately afterward, some shot in the head during the assault
- Rape continuing after victims were dead
- Sexual mutilation—breasts severed, genitals cut off or shot
- Burning, including deliberate burning of the groin; bodies set alight with accelerants
- - Hands bound behind backs; bodies tied to trees and poles along the road
- Sharp objects inserted into victims' genitals
- Women raped in view of their desperate partners, who were then killed
- Male victims gang-raped, beaten, and threatened with castration
- Dismemberment and decapitation

These findings of systematic sexual violence and torture are corroborated by the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict (2024) and the UN Commission of Inquiry (2024).

Just one quote from a survivor:

"I heard one rape where they were passing her around. She was probably injured, judging by her screams—screams you have never heard anywhere. It's between silence and screams, between pain and wanting to die. These are screams... it's something I have never heard in my life, and I have no way to explain to you what it sounds like. But it's screams. It's screams. It was simply horrific. And after one finished, he told another to go up 'Ta'al' [in Arabic], like to the next one. And apparently there was a round... And after they finished, they shot her." She continued: "You hear the screams, and then you hear silence. You hear a bang—and silence. And then there's a kind of calm. And then you say: okay, it's over at least. She's done with it. And like that with each person they abused—you heard. The moment they were killed, I said, 'Oh my God, finally, it's over.'"

Het was wel eens anders (toen ik nog voorzitter was van belangenorganisaties) maar al het LHBTIQA+-nieuws bereikt mij tegenwoordig laat. Zat net de @BrussenVeelo in te halen van afgelopen vrijdag en even het volgende:

Er schijnt dus een Pride anti-Israël-protest te zijn deze zaterdag 25 juli, “No Pride in Genocide”. Even los van die niet-bestaande genocide (you utter dumb fucks) dat protest gaat er oa over dat het homohuwelijk niet zou bestaan in Israël. Ik ben geneigd mijn Israëlische identiteitskaart te uploaden, maar dan zou ik mezelf doxen. Laat het volstaan: ik ben Israëlisch staatsburger geworden nadat ik trouwde met mijn man, een Israëlische man. Ons huwelijk is ingeschreven in Israël. En daarna heb ik er gewoond, samen met die man. En zijn we zelfs vaders geworden.

En voordat je zegt: maar in Israël zelf had je niet kunnen trouwen… dat klopt. Een burgerlijk huwelijk is sowieso niet mogelijk in Israël. Daarom is het gros van onze heterovrienden in Tel Aviv ook buiten Israël getrouwd “voor de wet”. Ik ben op een maandagochtend getrouwd op het stadhuis van Breda. Dat was gratis, that’s how I roll 😉

Roderick Veelo heeft er ook gelijk in dat dit wellicht zal veranderen na de verkiezingen eind oktober (oppositiepartijen pleiten al jaren voor invoering van het burgerlijk huwelijk, ook voor paren van gelijk geslacht).
De haat richting Israël is inmiddels echter zo groot dat activistische, narcistische domoren, ook in de homogemeenschap (hoewel zij zich dan weer veelal queer noemen, zie mijn recente substack), zich op het modieuze thema richten. Terwijl ik hier in het vrijzinnige Tel Aviv met mijn man en onze kinderen net pizza heb weggewerkt (we zijn hier even terug, op vakantie), wil ik even kwijt: fuck off LHBT Nederland. De afgelopen drie jaar waren hel voor Joodse homo’s, lesbiennes en biseksuelen. De medeplichtigheid van belangenorganisaties aan de stroom haat zal ik hen nooit vergeven.

Het veld waarvoor ik jarenlang achter de schermen knokte, om wetgeving en beleid te bewerkstelligen, door te spreken met Kamerleden en ministeries, liet mijn gezin in de steek. Mede daarom verkast precies over een maand mijn gezin.

De emancipatiebeweging in Nederland heeft mensen in de steek gelaten. En niet alleen homo’s en Joden. Ook vrouwen. Ook andere minderheden. Ik heb de afgelopen maanden besloten het roer om te gooien en op de bres te springen voor een terugkeer naar de emancipatiebeweging zoals die ooit is bedoeld. More to come. Promoting the hijab means becoming complicit in discrimination.

FIFA’s statutes claim to oppose all forms of discrimination, whether based on race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Yet when it comes to women, gender discrimination is not only tolerated—it is celebrated and promoted in the name of culture.

A seven-year-old girl whose parents have imposed the hijab on her—a tool used to control and suppress women—deserves our compassion, not to be displayed as a symbol to celebrate.

I know this from personal experience. When I was seven years old, Khomeini’s regime forced me to wear the hijab. Millions of Iranian women and I have lived with the humiliation of being told that we must cover ourselves so that men can feel comfortable. We reject that oppression—at the risk of our lives.

Your indifference to the suffering of millions of girls forced into the hijab reflects an indifference to the gender discrimination and gender apartheid imposed by the islamic ideology behind this symbolic garment—an ideology of control, inequality, and oppression.

Nothing destroys universal human rights more than cultural relativism. She is only a seven-year-old girl.

A word about the so-called snicko graph that “proved” croatia striker matanovic touched the ball.

Darren Cann (referee decisions commentator on the BBC and, unfortunately for him, one of the least convincing men ever to see a microphone) said he was “100% certain” there was a touch that caused pasalic to be offside.

He based that certainty on “snicko” technology as this proved the touch.

This is what referee and VAR used to rule out the goal.

But even if you think snicko is a good idea (I don’t) there’s a massive problem with the snicko graph.
