@BrainAblaze No, not really. A fit is something you have control over and are choosing to act out. Epilepsy doesn't work like that. What if it was said that people with Parkinson disease were just having fits !
@BrainAblaze Around 4 refills. But I get mine in 3 month increments. So, usually dont run out. However, my emergency med if I feel an episode coming on, only 4 tablets are allowed at a time.
@BrainAblaze A side effect of one of my medications is constant hunger. It makes you feel like you are hungry all the time... with no end. Which, in turn causes weight gain. It is very hard to combat.
However, I have had much worse eide effects on past meds.. triple vision, anorexia.
@BrainAblaze I would never refer to someone diagnosed with Epilepsy as "sick." I'll let disability pass... even though I still don't like that term. Epilepsy is a condition that a person has to live with.. it is just part of their life.
@BrainAblaze Be patient. People close to you usually come around when they understand the condition. It is good to work hard and never think you are less than. Yes, there are obstacles, but never give up. If it gets to a dire point, remember we all get to choose who is in our lives.
@BrainAblaze My seizures have been controlled for a good amount of years. Even with my state having a 1yr seizure free law. I tell my doctor and everyone else the same thing. There is no public transportation where I live... so unless they are going to pay my bills. I'll continue to drive.
@RedIsND@BrainAblaze I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 6. I have had several take-home, even full week, long EEG studies. Still take meds and go to work. Do as many daily activities as you would normally do. Personally, im not a fan of them. But, they have their purpose.
@BrainAblaze There are many illnesses that are not easily seen on the surface. Epilepsy might be higher diagnosed than Autism, however noone talks about Epilepsy. There is a severe lack of awareness in the world about it. Until that is addressed, I feel people will remain confused.
@BrainAblaze That is a difficult one. My state is 1yr seizure free to drive again. I also live in a rural southern state. Public transit does not exist.. While I have been seizure free for years now (med controled). I still think it is something you have to look at on an individual basis
@mephitmpH@BikeMan The real St. Valentine was tortured, beheaded, and dismembered. All for performing unlawful marriages in secret. The holiday is interesting to think about when you realize how he was killed and why
@BrainAblaze To an extent. Staying calm and keeping the environment calm helps my condition. However, I have no desire to listen about drama and conspiracy theory.. so I usually shut that down quick or just leave.
