The #Redskins hire Joe Gibbs as head coach.

He would lead Washington to four NFC titles over the next eleven years, becoming the only head coach in NFL history to win three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks.

Gibbs would go on to become the winningest head coach in team history and gain induction to the PFHOF in 1996.
