Foundation 451 is committed to getting banned/challenged books into the hands of students & families, making sure they see themselves & others in what they read
This is the suggested reading list for AP Eng Lit & Com.
This is last year's actual exam. The highlighted titles are banned. Ones with a B are banned in Brevard county. The kids are supposed to pass the exam how?
It's even more restrictive for Cambridge.
It's not just supplemental materials that are being challenged. One Brevard teacher's use of "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater" -- the use of which is allowed according to state-approved textbooks -- was called into question, with Sen. Debbie Mayfield eventually getting involved.
In response to HB 1069, Brevard teachers must get pre-approval of all supplemental materials from principals — including additional math problems, art projects and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
These are just some examples of requests that were denied.

@JenkinsBrevard@rpetty 25 years in education and I never thought I see the day where a state board of education member would be calling random strangers on Twitter groomers and accusing other educators of sexualizing children because we dare to fight back over this deranged censorship extremism. 🤦🏻♀️
@Pink Here's what we do. How can we support you to get the word out?
201 titles of banned books. 5200 books given. 9 Little Free Banned Book Libraries, 4 Inclusive teen safe spaces & reading areas, & a physical giving library to visit. How can we help?

1. On Tuesday, Popular Information reported that librarians in Charlotte County, Florida, were instructed by the school district superintendent to remove all books with LGBTQ characters.
The story spread widely on social media.
Then things got interesting.
