Yet many high school and college players are underfueling, especially when it comes to calories and quality protein. This can lead to fatigue, muscle breakdown, and difficulty maintaining weight throughout the season.
One of the most important nutrition windows comes right after training or competition.
Prioritizing protein + carbs helps:
✔ Reduce muscle breakdown
✔ Rebuild and repair muscle tissue
✔ Replenish glycogen stores
✔ Support faster recovery for the next workout or practice
Without adequate recovery nutrition, athletes may struggle with loss of lean muscle, decreased power, and slower recovery between sessions.
