@MrAndyNgo That was all I heardโฆ my thoughts immediately went to Charlie. Even if thatโs not what she was referencing as some say, it felt like she was mocking what happened to him.
The damage theyโve done not only to her family and the children, but to his family and their friends, and to everyone who trusted them in the church and during worship services. I had to listen to this and sit with it, and Iโm just sick inside. Can I ever hear this song the same way again? How do you trust anyone when, like you said, singing this song should have brought their lying, deceiving hearts to their knees?
I understand the concern because AI is advancing so quickly, and the risks are unlike anything weโve dealt with before. But weโve seen disruptive technology before in the Industrial Revolution and Progressive Era, and we made plenty of mistakes while society tried to catch up. AI may be different in scale and consequence, but that history should give us something to learn from. We need serious safeguards, but slowing down only works if other countries, especially China, slow down too.
Reading about the Progressive Era, roughly the 1890sโ1920s, and I keep thinking: why does so much of this feel familiar? Corporate power, labor fights, immigration, voting rights, public health, government reform, distrust of institutions, even anxiety over new technology changing work. Now weโre debating AI slowdowns for many of the same reasons. It feels like we keep recycling the same problems instead of learning from them.
@SourGirl8080@MAGA_mom1@JackPosobiec What does that have to do with this?? What business is that of ours???? Seriouslyโฆ think a little more than a full stop at the media pollution.
@f_pitt2000@Tomhennessey69@mattvanswol Nice take. I didnโt even think about that at the moment, but it secures my point โฆ liberal media boosts Floyd and attempts to devour this lone juror.
