It’s so weird that certain players can’t make a distinction of which gaming genre caters to whom at all. I’ve been playing all sorts of games since I was 4-5 years old and I NEVER once wanted to self insert myself or my head canon to a canon story character (trait). If a character is male, then it’s a male. If it’s a female, it’s a female. If nb, then it’s nb. etc.

Why would I want Dante or Solid Snake to be a woman? There is fanart/fanfic for that and I immensely enjoyed playing DmC and MGS.

Why would I ask Aloy to be a man? Again, there is fanart material for those. I want more beefy and strong women in gaming if anything.

Gaming industry since it’s beginning always catered to men, whether with games play style, main character, language, atmosphere etc. Not so long ago they realized the potential of women.

Anyone can play any game, as long as they respect the games canon material. If playing a woman mc bothers you so much, then you’re a misogynist piece of shit and don’t belong here. Let women have their own spaces. I never once felt the need to push my needs and wants to a goddamn game, thank god I have a better life than to steep so low. You should do the same.
