Burnham, It's Time to Deliver.

Today I have written to the new unelected Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, about the ongoing Royal Mail delivery delay crisis.

Whilst Labour MPs are celebrating Burnham's appointment as PM, my residents aren't receiving their mail.

They are rightly furious with post being frequently missed, hospital appointment letters arriving after the appointments, legal documents arriving far too late, birthday cards arriving weeks after birthdays, etc.

I have been meeting with Royal Mail time and time again to try and find a solution to the current crisis, but their service still falls very far below the standards that residents expect.

To that end I have asked the new Prime Minister what his plans are to make sure residents receive their mail in a timely manner.

I have written to the Home Secretary asking her to correct the record about the (now debunked) ‘terror plot’ she speculated about on the same day she was trying to shut down discussion about political motivation for the killing of Ann Widdecombe. 

She falsely claimed there was an attempted terror attack on an Islamic event and police arrests “undoubtedly saved lives”.

Now the police say they “found no evidence to support anyone being charged with any offences linked to the alleged threat.”

She is a disgrace.

Andy Burnham has refused to call for a General Election. What a complete hypocrite.

This is the same man who demanded a General Election when Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister, arguing that he had “no mandate from the people.”

So what’s changed?

If Burnham believed a Prime Minister without a public mandate should face the electorate then, why doesn’t the same principle apply now?

It seems the principle only matters when it suits his politics.

That’s not consistency, it’s hypocrisy.
