This morning the Holy Father Pope Francis approved the canonization of the Blessed Bartolo Longo (c. October 5, 1926). Blessed Bartolo was a satanic priest prior to his embrace of Christianity.
Anyone catch Cardinal Burke at the rosary tonight? I’m not aware of any other US Cardinals currently here. I hope they all continue to come to the piazza each night.
"There is an incident in the life of John Vianney that has been largely overlooked even by his principal biographers. It is an event that reveals another, deeper, and more painful wound in the heart of the Cure of Ars. I suspect that somehow it may be the key that opens up the secret of the holiness of this remarkable saint." Link: https://t.co/otb63ZcmuH
16-year-old Catholic Olympian Rayssa Leal signed “Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life” after the Last Supper drag show parody at the Paris Olympics.
So this 23 year old Brazilian surfer could not use his Christ the Redeemer surfboards because they violate Olympic rules. But mocking and blaspheming Christianity is permitted in Opening Ceremonies? Got it. Article 50 of Olympic Charter: “no type of political, religious or racial demonstration or propaganda shall be permitted in any Olympic venue." Catholic Bishop Robert Barron (@BishopBarron) condemns blasphemous Opening Ceremony for Paris Olympics:

This deeply secularist, post-modern society knows who its enemy is—they’re naming it—and we should believe them.”

Shame on those who produced this mockery, shame on the Olympic Committee and the nation of France for allowing it. This tarnishes what should be the noble celebration of sport and competition.
I urge the athletes not to run for the fading crown of worldly acclaim, instead run for the crown that does not fade, eternal life in Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God.
Pray the “St Michael the Archangel” prayer to ward off the evil spirits that prowl about the world so openly today and in reparation and atonement for the blasphemies against almighty God.
"Don't consider me too demanding if I ask you once again to set great store by holy books and read them as much as you can. The spiritual reading is as necessary as to you as the air you breathe.
Today is the feast of St Joseph Vaz, of the Goa Oratory, Apostle of Ceylon.
St Philip felt called to go to the Far East to preach the Gospel, but a holy monk told him, “Rome shall be your Indies.” Joseph Vaz fulfilled Philip’s longing to bring Christ to the people of Asia.
We are forming a new York Oratory football team – the Congo Rats – which has its first fixture on Saturday 25th November at 2pm. If you would like to be part of the team let us know. The patron saint of football is the Oratorian St Luigi Scrosoppi, so we are almost certain to win
