@_heretichunter This is a good example of how things were not perfect before 1962 as so many people think they were! People still got rubrics wrong, they were still unsure of what to do and how to do it! Granted it wasn’t as bad as today, but it still wasn’t perfect!
@LMSChairman However, there is nothing forcing the Faithful to have a devotion to every Saint, so perhaps it would be better to humbly accept the canonisation is valid but not have a devotion to that Saint!
@LMSChairman While canonisation may not meet the requirements for infallibility set by Vatican I, it has always been considered a part of Papal Magisterium! It is quite dangerous to deny a Saint should have been canonised as this is the purpose of the Church!
Today is the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, which is a Holy Day of Obligation so we will celebrate with Mass at 7:00 this evening at St Anne’s!
Our Christmas Masses are as follows:
Children’s Mass @ 6:00 this evening
Midnight Mass @ Midnight
Christmas Day Masses 10am @ St Anne’s & 12:00 at St Mark’s
@manassehmainah@cory_casual Papal infallibility does not mean the Pope is always right! The Pope has only spoken infallibly twice since 1870! To do so every Bishop in the world must agree with his statement - this is the Magisterium, not the opinion of individual Bishops, which can be wrong!
@manassehmainah@cory_casual The Pope is a human being and can therefore be wrong! The Magisterium is how God teaches us, particular when the modern world presents an issue that is not in Sacred Scripture!
Yes, I see your point and perhaps I’m reacting to reports rather than the document itself, but the Doctrines of the Trinity and Transubstantiation are difficult to understand for non-theologians, so will they be banned next?
The Incarnation was a Redemptive act, by saying Yes to the Angel Mary cooperated in that act, therefore Mary can legitimately be called ‘co-redemptrix’!
