gonna post a thread of the Rivendell Lego set.
Took a break for a while because doing Lego with a sling became too hard. so some of these are older. Fun way to keep track of progress
Prepping my classes for the winter. Have decided a thematic word is helpful to guide my content and not get sidetracked by every possible idea.
Christianity and World Religions: religio
Married Love and Sexuality: Otherness
Holy Eucharist: actio
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience
JUST IN: Palmer Luckey's genetically modified military dog startup, Warhound, comes out of stealth, aiming to create enhanced canines for the U.S. military.
I think Fielder’s film intrigues in part because of this. It is difficult to interpret because she embodies the deception we encounter daily with AI: it talks and writes as if it were ensouled, but fundamentally every output is a calculation.
(I mean she is soulless poetically)
Ive not yet seen “You Can See Everything“ yet. But I think what makes Holmes so intriguing is not her psychology, but rather her soullessness. Her haunting stare exists because she is someone who has no real self. Instead, her life is governed by what people tell her to be. 1/2
To me there’s one very obvious reason Elizabeth Holmes doesn’t seem to understand what she did was wrong in You Can See Everything that I haven’t seen anyone mention and it’s not because “her mind works differently” it’s because a lawyer told her never to admit guilt on camera after a court orders you to pay $452 million in restitution if you were ever hoping to get it reduced.
Blessed Fulton Sheen is coming back — as an AI hologram.
Bishop Louis Tylka (@bshplou) wants visitors to be able to interact with and learn from the legendary Catholic broadcaster, who died in 1979 and was beatified in September.

This is ridiculous. Notre Dame is a great Catholic institution! The vibrancy of faith there is unlike anything ive encountered. Not to mention they have perhaps the best Theology Faculty in the English speaking world.
.@NewmanSociety has released its 2026–27 #NewmanGuide, with 71 more recommendations than last year.
But not #NotreDame.
Notre Dame can be found in the Guide's FAQ, with an explanation why it has never been recommended:
"At the time there were faithful professors and students on campus (and there still are). But there were also clear examples of opposition to the faith from many on campus. In order to resolve our dilemma, we spoke with the late Dr. Charles Rice, a faithful Catholic and long-time law professor at Notre Dame. He helped us find the bottom line. He said that at Notre Dame, 'a kid who is struggling with his faith will sink like a stone.'"
There are, of course, remarkable exceptions -- like @alexathallow, whose own struggle with faith eventually led to the creation of @HallowApp. But that doesn't diminish Charlie's warning.
Notre Dame can be an extraordinary place for students who are sure-footed in their Catholic faith. For those looking for a thoroughly Catholic academic experience, the #NewmanGuide is a tremendous resource.

it has been a long time since I approached this book. But the opening chapter in the commandment to love is such a banger! and a challenge in its unwavering insistence of the orientation of our life.
