A delight to celebrate the HC at well attended Waterfall Church today, a small hamlet adjacent to the Peak District.
Prayer Book liturgy, ad orientem position, no need for constant announcements of page numbers, good hymn singing.

A joy and privilege to bless Debbie and sprinkle her Lay Reader robes with Holy Water at St Werburgh’s Kingsley yesterday as she prepares for being Licensed.

A wonderful Prayer Book Choral Communion at Lichfield Cathedral on Saturday. A dignified liturgy well done, beautiful music and singing & a good sermon by +Oswestry. All as church should be.

Setting is Schubert in G, a Tallis anthem and hymns to Thaxted, Kings Lynn & Iste Confessor, with likely good sermon. Do come!

@FatherNaylor Good to see this statement. The Bench of Bishops in the Lords strangely silent on these fundamental moral issues. Where is their leadership in a time of such need to protect the weak and vulnerable, whether unborn or where lives drawing to a close?

A wonderful See of Oswestry Chrism Mass at Lichfield today. An absolutely packed cathedral, uplifting singing and 60 priests concelebrating with the Bishop. A tonic for this Holy Week.

A year ago today we set up a people counter and now we are astonished and grateful to find we had 101,445 visitors to St Botolph’s in the last 12 months. Some for services, some for prayer, some for music and some just to look around. This was our Carol Service.

A lovely Mass this evening to celebrate the Feast of Title at S Werburgh Burslem with a forthright sermon from +Oswestry urging all to put busyness aside and make time to listen to Our Lord’s voice.

Good to attend a well supported lunchtime Mass at St John the Baptist Coventry today. The walls soar upwards to draw the eye to the life beyond & the stained glass is a vision of what lies there. All spiritually uplifting.
And with a good homily & welcome by Fr Dexter too.

Spent a day focussing on finance with a finance committee for @fellowshipsje (chaired by @FrSga1928) & then met with @carver_street treasurer Dr Richard Dawidek. I am immensely thankful for all those called to these important ministries of stewardship. St Matthew pray for them!

Beautiful worship at St George the Martyr Preston on Christmas morning. Good to hear the Fr Willis organ played so well and the lovely voices of singers. And a decent congregation too lingering afterwards to talk to one another. Priestly parish ministry as it should be.
