Stress doesn't come from hard work.
Stress comes from not acting on problems that you know you have control over.
Stress is a warning that your actions are out of alignment with your character.
The same problem comes back.
You address it, it returns. You address it again, it returns again.
At some point the question needs to stop being about the problem and start being about what keeps producing it.
When things don't go according to plan, an amazing window opens.
A moment of teaching, understanding, and connection. It's one of the only windows you have where you can truly upgrade your team's skills.
If you shut the window, the team will hide it next time.
Things are not going to be the way you expect them to be.
They are going to be the way they are. So...
- Check your ego.
- Prioritize what you want most.
‐ Let go so your team can make decisions.
- Keep the communication flowing in BOTH directions.
