being actually interested in post-archive soviet history is so fascinating because you realise it was basically a pretty normal society, generally poorer than the west but with more social stability, etc. but you're expected to morally equate it with the Murder Empire
I feel like thereβs a lot of discourse around this game right now - it seems like thereβs a lot of tweets hounding on how bad this game looks.
I got to play this game back during a few tests/gameplay sessions so the dev could get footage for his trailer. Not only is the developer such a down to earth person who loves the Titanfall franchise and the movement shooter genre in general, but wanted to create a game that could mimic the wallrun and mech mechanics of Titanfall.
He did a pretty good job - I think itβs hard to make a game that mimics the fluidity of both Titanfall games, especially the fluidity of pilot movement in Titanfall 2, and yet he gets pretty damn close to feeling at least 3/4 of the way thereβ¦
On top of this, he even added a few surprises of his own - one of the maps he had us play on was a 2-level map where if you jumped high enough, the entire world would pivot and the roof would become the floor, and vice versa. Youβd literally be fighting people on the ground AND on the roof.
Itβs not Titanfall 3, itβs not going to have the art direction or story telling of Titanfall 3, but itβs a pretty damn good spiritual successor from an aspiring indie dev who just wants to make something based off the franchise.

As we speak tom skinner is asking AI to draft an essay about how we our losing our English tradition of traffic jams and carbon monoxide inhalation. We're putting hard working english road painters and tarmac layers out of work. I bet the paving stones will be facing Mecca
We built a studio, we made a game, and I'm really proud of both. Before we close the doors at Midsummer Studios I'd like to share a glimpse of Burbank, the game we poured our hearts into.
It's like "Life Sims + The Truman Show," but it's more than that. I believe people are storytellers, and I want them to share whatever stories and characters they can dream up. Burbank let's you do that.
We have moments playing this game where characters come alive in a way we've never experienced. And for an old game developer like me that's special.
What you're about to see is definitely pre-alpha. But this game was a dream of mine, our team made it come true, so watch and dream with us.
