Tom Cruise spoke with Pat McAfee about the Paramount-Warner Bros merger and David Ellison’s promise of 30 movies a year.

Cruise told McAfee: “I think it’s awesome... I know we’re going to get those 30 movies. I want us all to come together as a community to help make those 30 movies. It’s not just going to be, you know, Paramount doing it. Everyone’s going to need all the help of every artist to be able to do it.”

Tom Cruise is confident Paramount boss David Ellison will deliver on his promise of releasing 30 films a year in theaters after the Warner Bros. merger.

“I think it’s awesome. You know, here’s the thing. They’re going to deliver 30 movies. It’s a community to me. It’s not an industry. The people in these studios are not just people in the studios. They’re my family. I know we’re going to get those 30 movies. I want us all to come together as a community to help make those 30 movies. It’s not just going to be, you know, Paramount doing it. Cruise has long made a home at Paramount, which released all eight films in his marquee “Mission: Impossible” franchise. His other collaborations with the studio include the “Top Gun” movies, “The Firm,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Collateral,” “War of the Worlds,” “Jack Reacher,” and “Days of Thunder,” which is getting a sequel in 2028.

After a four and a half decades in front of the camera, Sunday night at the 16th Annual Governors Awards it was finally time for arguably the world’s biggest movie star to get his long-deserved Academy Award.

Tom Cruise has been nominated three times for acting, and now received the Oscar for “his unwavering commitment to our filmmaking community, his vital support of the theatrical experience, and his unmatched body of work.”

Other honorees at the star-studded gala included Dolly Parton, Wynn Thomas and Debbie Allen.
