@G_AshDog @Beachbootcamp @bristolballoon I do hear you. Organising the Fiesta is obvs a monumental effort and I do appreciate that we are lucky to have such an event in our city. I'm sure those people who did attend had a fabulous time with all the other attractions taking place. Fingers xd for two ascents tomorrow 🙂.
@KealanJohn@SteveHe10377952@darren_m_sage@bristolballoon 2/2... also hold local fairs at/near viewing points in the city and elsewhere so that ALL of Bristol can enjoy the Fiesta again because they haven't got to slog through traffic jams to get there. And if the balloons don't fly, no problems, you've still had a nice day out.
@KealanJohn@SteveHe10377952@darren_m_sage@bristolballoon 1/2 Nah, I disagree. Lots of people still love the balloons, including me, but lots of others are getting fed up because they don't think it's worth the aggro of trying to get to Ashton Court, especially if the balloons don't go up. Hold a funfair at the Court by all means, but..
@bristolballoon@MissycardsUK@rosemfallon That's the thing, though. Most Bristolians won't necessarily know. They'll see sunshine and a gentle breeze, and think 'game on'. Communication needs to be clearer, and a lot earlier, so people DO appreciate it when ascents take place, instead of being angry when they don't.
@bristolballoon Can I also add that the spokesperson for, I think, @baileyballoons who said that because of the wind direction, everyone should come to Ashton Court for the best chance to see the balloons, hadn't really thought it through. #trafficjam#carnage
@SteveHe10377952@darren_m_sage@bristolballoon 2/2 Why not have several smaller funfairs at/near popular viewing points in/around the city? Promote them as fun events in their own right. Traders are happy, more people are able to go, and you reduce the annual traffic carnage. Focusing on one venue is the major problem here.
Cannot speak highly enough of what Nichelle Nichols achieved on earth and in actual NASA space recruitment. And for all the thousands of little girls who grew up wanting to be strong and brave just like her. Goodbye Lieutenant.
Tories privatised the rail and hand billions in bail outs.
Tories privatised mail and prices have rocketed.
Tories hand contacts to mates in NHS and system is falling apart.
Tories underfunded education and now can’t fill vacancies.
But yeah, unions are crippling services 🙄
@SamRyderMusic spot on about Eurovision 2023 being Ukraine's party, not ours. And who better to present it than these three legends? @AlexandrSkichko @vova_ostapchuk and Timur Miroshnychenko. @bbceurovision it's their show. We're just providing the keys to the building.
@gaz58nev@Finchy202@GNev2@Keir_Starmer@UKLabour At what point did expressing an opinion become 'pushing an agenda'. Yes, he's vocal in his support for Labour, but anyone who doesn't like that can unfollow him, or express an opinion that differs from his, as you have. It's called freedom of speech.
@soggyone1 @Finchy202@GNev2@Keir_Starmer Yes, you get to express any opinion you like, as long as you're prepared to accept that people are then entitled to respond to that, as you have here. And that's fair enough 🙂.
