After a successful career in the energy industry and after taking redundancy, I decided to invest in a franchise...the worst decision of my life…more to come…
@UKFranchising Please do a thorough due diligence before investing in any franchise with a completely one sided agreement. Follow my simple 5 step process https://t.co/ZV9DTRT3iT
@EliteFranchise@Pipwilkins@BFA_UK Before buying any franchise where you are risking your livelihood because of the one sided nature of franchise agreements, please ensure you do a thorough due diligence https://t.co/ZV9DTRT3iT
@EliteFranchise@Pipwilkins@BFA_UK Please, please do your due diligence and don’t believe all this marketing hype. Read my blog about the importance of the due diligence process. https://t.co/ZV9DTRT3iT
@EliteFranchise@Stagecoach_GBR This statement is completely false as then Franchisor controls the process ‘you are in the driving seat to determine the value of your businesses and to decide when to sell’. Please do due diligence before investing in any franchise. https://t.co/ZV9DTRT3iT
@EliteFranchise@notjusttravel@NJTFranchise Be extremely careful about ANY business someone claims can be run part time, not least a franchise. Do your due diligence..

@UKFranchising Or you could read my due diligence process along with the basic questions you need to be asking the Franchisor which is based in my own personal experience along with input from many other franchisees. https://t.co/ZV9DTRSvtl
@EliteFranchise This can be the case but be prepared for long evenings and weekends to catch up in paperwork etc. The vast majority of franchises are full time and more. You are 100% not independent like running your own which is not always a bad thing.
@EliteFranchise Training is definitely one issue that any prospective franchisee needs to consider but in my view it’s not one if the most important ones. See my blog about due diligence in franchising https://t.co/ZV9DTRSvtl
@EliteFranchise@BFA_UK One of the few or maybe only historic ‘goldmines’ was McDonalds but franchisees can no longer sell which means they cannot ‘move on’ with their lives which is the worst of everything
@EliteFranchise@BFA_UK I could share numerous horror stories with franchisees trying to sell their franchise where Franchisors change the goal posts and make it as difficult as possible to sell. Don’t believe everything you hear especially from @BFA_UK
@UKFranchising Rather than listening to Dan, a Franchisor, I suggest you read my blog which is written from a franchisee perspective https://t.co/iOkf060AC6
@EliteFranchise Sadly there are far too many Franchisors that are happy to take anyone because they know if they fail they can go after them for liquidated damages and then recruit someone else. See my post about franchise agreements https://t.co/iOkf060AC6
@EliteFranchise There are some great franchises out there but before investing your life savings in any franchise with a completely one sided agreement please read my latest blog about franchising called ‘Due Diligence….Ignore it at your peril’ https://t.co/ZV9DTRT3iT
@TiceRichard Richard, thank you so much for taking up the issue of ‘malpractice’ in franchising at the hands of ‘unscrupulous and dishonest franchises’. After my own personal experience as a franchisee, I started a blog which you can find here https://t.co/1Zgx5Q3Bj8
@UKFranchising before investing your life savings in a franchise you need to do a thorough due diligence of the opportunity. Details of a simple 5 step process and sample DD questions to ask the Franchisor are attached; ‘Due Diligence….Ignore it at your peril’ https://t.co/ZV9DTRSvtl
