Black immigrants disproportionately face high risks of deportation. This is not only an issue that affects Latinx communities. The fact that it surprises ppl that he was detained bc they thought @21savage was raised in ATL speaks to the complexity of immigration. #21Savage

A sitting United States senator had the cops called on him after he tried to enter an immigration detention center and get a first-hand look at the families separated from their children at the border. I wrote about this sick policy for @RollingStone. https://t.co/VBYAYltdX4 https://t.co/6JRHGoBQWD
There are 2 different things going on that are being conflated:
1. Children being separated at the border from their parents as matter of policy.
2. 1500 unaccompanied minors who have come here over the past few years that US has lost track of.
These are two separate issues.
Just sit and imagine for one second that someone separated you from your child and it’s been a month since u have seen them. I know, you can’t imagine it. You feel rage, anxiety, anger. We can’t sit by. We have to find these children. #WhereAreTheMigrantChildren
Separating a father from his toddler – and refusing to tell him where is 18-month-old son had been placed – is an affront to the values our nation is built on. America is better than this. https://t.co/nm9VD9UWto

You cannot disentangle the colonization experienced by indigenous ppl from the racism experienced by black ppl from the xenophobia experienced by latinx ppl from the imperialism experienced by palestinians.
They’re all different extensions of the same oppressive project.
