The annual Jazz Central concert was a night of great music performances and a chance for the District’s youngest musicians to play alongside alumni in a unique closing piece.
A total of six bands from Saeger Middle School, Bryan Middle School, and Francis Howell Central High School performed, as well as one band made up entirely of Francis Howell School District alumni.
Each band played two songs while family, community members, and FHSD staff watched in a café-style setting. The concert ended with the FHC Jazz Ensemble playing “Hey Jude” by The Beatles. As the song’s chorus began, the other five bands surrounded the gymnasium while the directors had an eye on each other to keep the bands in sync. It was a wonderful moment, demonstrating how music unites communities. 🎷🎺🎸 #OneHowell
Hackmann Road Early Childhood Center families enjoyed popsicles in the park to welcome the summer season.
School staff joined in for the evening of play at Ollie’s Fun Forest in St. Peters. The kids had fun on the swings, slides, and nearby stream with water features. The recent rain meant a few of them enjoyed the mud, too! The teachers got a chance to wish their students a happy summer and squeeze in one last hug and play session. It was a fun night for all! #OneHowell

Becky-David Elementary students in grades 3-5 kicked off MAP testing with a high-energy assembly on Wednesday, April 22!
The event featured performances by the Francis Howell North High School band, dance team, and cheerleaders, plus interactive games and prizes. Assistant principal Dr. Alexandria Orlando said that after seeing the students' enthusiasm, the school plans to "make it a tradition."
According to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) is designed to "measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in Missouri’s Learning Standards."
"Throughout the year, students work hard to learn new skills, and preparation helps reinforce those skills while reducing anxiety about the test," Orlando said. "Most importantly, good preparation reminds students that the MAP test is not just about a score; it’s an opportunity to show the progress they’ve made all year."
Good luck to all Francis Howell students taking the MAP! #OneHowell
