I'm excited to announce some professional news that the Russell Sage Foundation has awarded pipeline grant that will support an interview study of formerly incarcerated fathers that my colleague Steve Farough and I will be conducting this summer!
How do formerly incarcerated fathers experience child support and criminal justice debt? How do they see themselves as fathers?
Francis Prior (@Francis_Prior) & Steven Farough (@AssumptionUMA) will lead an interview study of 60 fathers in Massachusetts.

Today I was granted access to speak with incarcerated firefighters.
They told me:
- they hadn’t showered in 5 days
- they were not provided regularly meals
- they were working 24 hours in a row
- they feel under appreciated and underpaid
I am hearing that on his deathbed, Jean-Marie Le Pen received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahada. Even now he looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!

Shout out Black/Latinx b-boys & b-girls in NYC who are likely in their mid-late 60s today who were harassed by cops, admonished by media, and dismissed by ‘artists’ for creating what is now a global art form #OlympicGames#breakdancing#hiphop#NYC

BREAKING: The full Fifth Circuit, on a 13-6 vote, upholds Mississippi’s lifetime ban on voting by those convicted of any of a number of felonies. A prior three-judge panel had held that the ban violates the 8th Amendment. The full court rejected that. https://t.co/dP7LsF1gxW

Just had explosive interaction w/ @Columbia’s heightened security coming onto campus. They followed me to my office & then lied, saying I didn’t scan my ID for entry (I did) & I pushed an officer (I didn’t). An ugly scene followed. They did this to me, a tenured, full professor.
