Bad systems try to fix data later.

Your pipeline didn’t crash.

That doesn’t mean your data is correct.

If one step breaks, everything downstream does too.

Most people think document workflows start with extraction.

They don’t.

They fail at validation.

You can extract everything correctly…
…but if totals don’t reconcile
the data is useless.
Extraction gives you data.
Validation decides if you can trust it.

Messy invoice → clean structured output sounds simple.

Edge cases are where everything breaks.

That’s the real problem.

“extract → done”

They’re:

extract → validate → normalize → sync

Most people stop at step 1.

OCR works in demos.

Fails in production.

– outputs inconsistent

You can’t build reliable systems on that.
