@WillyLaurence@LeoSzil Agreed! If there is a way for nuclear technology to be harnessed peacefully that would be a huge advancement for mankind! #2018CUAB
President Truman has made a very uninformed decision. If he had read the Franck Report he would have understood that the use of atomic weapons directly on Japan was not necessary. An open demonstration would have been sufficient for surrender. #2018CUAB
My sorrow and anger cannot be expressed, yet again. My efforts with the Franck Report obviously had no effects on the US military. My heart and prayers are with the Japanese population. #2018CUAB
@Albert_E1nstein I appreciate that, but it is not evident that my efforts with the Franck Report had little to no influence on the government. I feel defeated #2018CUAB
Mr. President, the bomb dropped yesterday should not be labeled as a success. The effects on the Japanese population is and will be increasingly horrific. “In no other type of warfare does the advantage lie so heavily with the aggressor.” #2018CUAB
@LeoSzil@PrezHTruman Excellent! Demonstration is the best way to seek a surrender! Maybe Japan will rethink their recent decision not to end the war #2018CUAB
@HenryStim@PrezHTruman Secretary Stimson, I just do not believe that the Japanese people deserve to face the brutality of the bomb. The aftermath will last years. There is no morality in the use of the bomb. Not for the US or Japan #2018CUAB
I regret to inform you all that @HenryStim has officially rejected our recommendations written in the Franck Report. @PrezHTruman never even looked at the document. #2018CUAB
I am shocked by the events today at Alamogordo. While the test of the atomic bomb was successful, this should not be declared a victory. The ramifications of the atomic bomb are now being fully understood as truly horrific. #2018CUAB
If the Franck Report had been passed on to @PrezHTruman this demonstration could have been used more effectively. If the location had been changed, Japan would have seen how horrific this bomb can be thus leading to their surrender. #2018CUAB
@HenryStim@PrezHTruman No amount of resources is worth the tragedies that will come from the destruction of this bomb. I cannot support the military’s use of this bomb on civilians. #2018CUAB
I will continue to fight for the development of nuclear energy to be placed within civilian control. The government and military do not have the moral capacity to continue to hold such privileges. #2018CUAB
@HenryStim@PrezHTruman The Franck Report warns against the use of the bomb directly upon the Japanese. Instead a demonstration should be used to trigger a surrender. This directly affects the war and should be shown to @PrezHTruman#2018CUAB
