Lithium mining can indeed benefit the entire economy, beyond tax and royalty revenues. Argentina is a prime example. The news making headlines today takes me back to 2011, when I was invited to speak at the First Seminar on Lithium organized by Panorama Minero in Salta and Jujuy, Argentina. Before that event, I thought opening up to foreign investment seemed excessive. There, I realized I was wrong. I discovered that, unlike Chile and Bolivia, Argentina had already begun laying the foundations for a supply industry that, over time, would generate significant multiplier effects for the local and national economy. The prospect of plundering natural resources was a thing of the past. It is obvious, however, that the Argentine model cannot be automatically replicated. But it demonstrates that development through mining, in general, and #lithium mining, in particular, is possible. The US$1.8 billion that a single lithium company (Rio Tinto) will spend on operating projects (Sal de Vida, Sal de Los Ángeles, and Olaroz, US$549.8 million) and projects under development (Rincón, US$941 million, and Fénix 1B, US$310.7 million) on goods and services supplied by local and national providers represents a milestone in lithium mining in South America. In fact, this approach is part of my proposal to make mining the engine of the Bolivian economy. However, this will require a convergence of vision between business leaders who believe in their country and a government that provides the necessary incentives to move in this direction. Argentina is an example to follow. Both Bolivia and Chile have much to learn from its experience.

Thanks for the shout out @Lithium_ARG
Indeed, lithium's abundance is why it's irreplaceable, but very few discovered assets genuinely will meet what Dale Henderson calls "reliable supply".
Proven operators of conventional brine projects like Cauchari-Olaroz and PPG fit that description and are greatly under-appreciated and undervalued at present by Mr. Market IMO.

INFORME DE EMPRESAS: Minera Exar S.A. - 3° Trimestre 2025
