@URNeuroscience Meera came in 3rd place in the national competition! This is the best ranking of any student from Rochester in the history of this competition! Huge congrats to Meera! ๐ง
Lots to unpack here! DM me if youโre interested in chatting about parietal areas involved in object use, category-specificity in the ventral stream, diaschisis, and lesion-symptom mapping! 8/8
Super excited to share this paper! We show that lesions to parietal areas involved in skilled action disrupt processing of tools in the ventral stream. 1/8
Visual processing of manipulable objects in the ventral stream is modulated by inputs from parietal action systems https://t.co/BIFeYtNevv #biorxiv_neursci
We show that the descending portion of the left arcuate fasciculus connects parietal action areas with object representations in the ventral stream. We propose that structural connectivity outside the ventral stream shapes category-specificity within the ventral stream. 7/8
Super pumped to be in Boston for #CNS2025! Three students from the lab will be presenting โ stop by and chat to hear more about conceptual knowledge retrieval, and lesion-symptom mapping of word production!
Two posters from the lab will be presented at #sfn2024! See @estrawderwoman tomorrow to hear about functional connectivity in brain tumor patients. And see Will Burnsโ poster on Tuesday relating perisylvian lesion damage to fMRI responses in precentral speech areas. ๐ง
It was wonderful celebrating the career of Dr. Marc Schieber! His research and mentorship have left a lasting impact on science. Thank you, and congratulations on your retirement, Dr. Schieber! #URochesterResearch@URMC_Neurology
I'm super excited that our consensus paper on the terminology of semantic memory is now published! This was a tremendous collaborative effort of 50+ researchers across the globe: https://t.co/MuDahItfsl
๐จ My lab is searching for 1-2 full-time research coordinator(s) and a full-time research tech to contribute to our studies on ๐ง human brain networks ๐ง

We are hiring a post-doc at Emory University, working on sensorimotor neuroimaging after stroke, multisensory integration and embodiment. Start date: approx. late summer 2024. I'm at @EWCN_Brixen now - happy to meet interested candidates. DM or email me with any questions.
