Back at RayJ, this time for a worthy cause. I’m volunteering at the Bullard Family Foundation Back To School Bash! My co-worker Sonya Henderson and Lily are here to serve too. Thanks @TitusONeilWWE for supporting families throughout the #TampaBay community.
I attended the Tampa Organization of Black Affairs #TOBA - Leadership Institute project presentations at @HCCFL. It was definitely worth my time! TOBA’s TLI members have innovative ideas to enhance our communities and improve lives.
At this "Meet the Artist" event, artist Nneka Jones spoke to members of the Woodland Terrace Neighborhood Watch about her proposed sports-themed mural for the Gwen Miller Community Center. The colorful piece is commissioned by the City of Tampa, Arts & Cultural Affairs Division.
Yesterday, I had the unique honor to MC the @CityofTampa Office of Human Rights Luncheon celebrating 55 years of commitment to protecting the rights of others. The opportunity to honor Bobby Bowden, Fred Hearns, and Patricia Newton for their efforts was most gratifying!
It’s been an amazing weekend!@tampatheatre screened the final two films in the Black Love Classic Movie Series - “Mahogany” and “Waves”. @CLEMCO_AV and Sofia Cherry lead outstanding film talks after each movie. A big THANKS to everyone who made this event possible.
As we approach #BlackHistoryMonth, we invite you to join the 34th Annual @cotbhc Black History Celebration on Feb 1st at @TheTampaCC.
The theme this year aims to shine a light on leaders in our community and honor the trailblazers who came before them: https://t.co/e5MIuDAaGE
Good Morning! It’s a great day to walk for a cause! The Tampa Bay Heart Walk is taking place in-person at Al Lopez Park and virtual anywhere and every where. I was happy to be joined by Michelle and Conchi! They are part of my City of Tampa Family!
The Black Wall Street Experience will provide information and opportunities for entrepreneurs, social activists, community leaders, and those looking to build a strong financial legacy. You and a friend should plan to attend.
@THAPgroup
My wife and I are so proud of Angelique Francois! She’s a @FloridaAtlantic alumnus. As Miss Riverview, she is competing for the title of Miss Florida! She’d be a wonderful representative of our state! Congratulations to her parents John and Matilda! @JohnFrancois9
Go Angelique!
I encourage everyone to celebrate at one of the great #Juneteenth events in our community today & look out for Old City Hall lit up tonight!
Great to see so many community members at yesterday's ceremony like Angélique, a past @COTBHC scholarship recipient & now Miss Riverview!
Thank you to the Tampa Bay Juneteenth Coalition, Buffalo Soldiers, and everyone who joined us for the historic #Juneteenth flag raising outside City Hall today.
Juneteenth is a reminder that we must all continue working together to promote freedom, equity, and justice for all.
I think @amazon’s move to support Black-owned businesses could be a real game changer for Black entrepreneurs in Tampa. Check it out! https://t.co/QuCFnN0KD4
Recent conversations made me think about self-love and how hard it can be to love yourself & build intrinsic motivation without seeking external validation. Being able to spend time alone and to enjoy your own company... (1/2)
Today, I visited The Square at Lykes Gaslight Square Park! It offers great grab-and-go lunch options. I enjoyed the live music too. The Square is so cool! Thanks @Tampasdowntown
So grateful to be at the unveiling of the Fearless Four monument at @TampaPD. The art piece will commemorate the courage of 4 Black police officers who stood up for what is right within @CityofTampa
@WFLARod@WNCN Tampa has lost a true treasure. Thank you @WFLARod for covering the various communities within the Tampa Bay region. You are an outstanding journalist. Congratulations and continued success!!
