@AlexRodriguezSa In the film, there's never any verification that the gods actually exist outside of man's belief in them. Having this conversation and Poseidon cursing him for injuring his son would fly in the face of this theme Nolan is trying to establish.

@WillTheLandMan I see it as the priestess of the temple being murdered. So his PTSD actually creates her face as his conscience for the rest of the film, which he sees as Athena, because of his faith/belief. I don't think there are any gods in the film.
