Last year during my NYSC, I was trying to combine it with Forex.
Many times, my setup would form while I was working.
By the time I got access to my charts again, market has moved.
I missed entries.
Missed opportunities.
Missed payouts.
That’s when I realized something;
Trading isn’t just about knowing where price will go.
You also need to be available when the opportunity presents itself.
A lot of people think trading is something you can casually squeeze into a busy schedule. Maybe for some trading styles, yes.
But for active traders, the market doesn’t care that you’re in a meeting, shifts or at work.
If you’re not there when your setup appears, the market moves on without you.
That’s one reason I consider professional trading a full-time job.
Most people underestimate what can happen in 5 years of focused effort.
They overestimate what can happen in 5 weeks.
Stay patient.
Stay disciplined.
Keep stacking small wins.
Time rewards those who refuse to quit.
Gm.
The moment you start:
- following your rules
- journaling every trade
- reviewing your mistakes
- tracking your performance
Trading stops feeling like gambling.
It starts feeling like a business.
Businesses operate on processes.
Gamblers operate on emotions.
The day you become process driven is the day your trading begins to change.
And the craziest thing about trading is that sometimes the best thing you can do for your account…
is absolutely nothing.
No entry.
No forcing.
Just close the chart and wait.
Most traders know this.
Very few can actually do it.
Imagine if your broker charged you $500 every time you took a trade that wasn’t in your plan.
Most traders would suddenly become patient.
The funny thing is…
that’s exactly what’s already happening.
You lose money “EVERYTIME” you break your rule. Isn't it?
The more you learn, practice, and refine your edge, the more valuable you become. Every chart studied, every mistake reviewed, and every lesson learned adds to your arsenal.
In the long run, capital follows competence.
Focus less on chasing profits and more on building skill....... One can disappear overnight, the other pays dividends for life
The truth no one wants to admit: If you need to check your open trades every 5 minutes on your phone while out with friends,
The market completely owns your mental health. You're a slave to a chart.
