Today, we announced NOVAR’s inclusion in @IBM’s Enterprise Development Program, alongside a R1 million contribution from @LibertyGroupSA. Marvel and Malunghelo started with just R700, building a computer and developing an e-learning app that’s now been downloaded 50,000 times. It’s a powerful example of what we can achieve when we take a whole of society approach to supporting innovation and digital entrepreneurs.

My morning motivation comes in an “exclusive story” that we are “breaking” on @GoodThingsGuy.

Two weeks ago, an app created by two self-taught students from Limpopo went viral. It was a beautiful story. Wiith just R700, and a second-hand computer, Marvel Shibambu and Malunghelo Mathonsi taught themselves how to code and created an App to help students in South Africa.

A TikTokker named @coolstorybru_za made a video about them. And it went viral.

We picked up on the story. Interviewed them. And published an article.

And now... just two weeks later and they’ve just been given R1 million in funding (and more!)

You read that right... ONE MILLION RAND!!!

#DriveHope was started in 2019. We helped launch it and have worked closely with the @LibertyGroupSA team over the years to do good things together. And we’ve done so much good together.

Today feels like a biggie.

Yes I am, crying… and so is the whole #DriveHope team. We’re all on WhatsApp sharing our snot en trane.
