DRC has been battling repeated ebola outbreaks since 1976. Sometimes it spreads to Uganda which has experience of dealing with it. Suddenly, Kenya that has never had an Ebola case, says it has set up 23 centres, a country whose public healthcare has crumpled?
NEW SPEAKER:
Just read someone calling NORBERT MAO A ONE MAN ARMY; 🤓! Is he?
Well, my view is a little different. Just from sheer optics, which ofcse may not amount to much, but still....Why Keep THOMAS TAYEBWA as Deputy Speaker in the circumstances? For me, the logic would be to create a situation for a MAO SPEAKERSHIP! Wouldn't see the logic of having both THOMAS TAYEBWA AND JACOB OBOTH-OBOTH....Just saying, 😎! Now in having an opposition MP becoming Speaker, it is not as strange, or uncommon as many seem to think. To FORGE NATIONAL CONSENSUS, Countries have appointed Speakers from OPPOSITION even where there are no CLEAR PARTY MERGERS, as such. Has happened in Australia, Taiwan, Kuwait, even Kenya here, etc. And it's common in cases where there are CROSS-PARTY ALLIANCES. Like this DP-NRM thing. It depends on what the NATIONAL AGENDA OF THE TIME is.....🤫!
Indeed the saying is true that when the mind is blind the eyes are useless. We said many things and even talked about the “outgoing” Speaker way back in Kyankwanzi. We even spoke of the influence of the PLU. We even said elections alone will not deliver a transition. I even said I will be the Speaker of the 12th Parliament. But those with blind minds could not see and are still not seeing.
Whatever anyone may say about our journey to #SaveParliament, one thing is clear: the way the ordinary people in Uganda see Parliament has changed. A clear choice faces the 12th Parliament when choosing a leader. The choice is between a leader who sees himself as a STEWARD and one who sees herself as the OWNER of the institution.
Yesterday, President Museveni proudly attended the Kuhingira ceremony of his stunning granddaughter, Sasi, daughter of Natasha Museveni.
She looked radiant in her veil and traditional attire as the family celebrated this special day.
Congratulations 🎉👏
Is Gulu City the only city in Uganda that needs to be studied for excellence? Roads are on point, City clocks actually work, it’s super clean, and leaders walk the talk.
What are your thoughts?
In our evening session at Kyankwanzi, I warned that corruption will not be tolerated. Those involved are on notice and decisive action will be taken. Leaders, especially in Parliament, must reject bribery and serve with integrity.
I also appreciate our partners, including Rt. Hon. Hassan Omar of the United Democratic Alliance of Kenya, for emphasising the need to overcome fragmented markets and policies in order to achieve Africa’s prosperity.
Retreats like these are important for renewing commitment to our mission of national transformation. I congratulate the MPs on the successful retreat.
@nextradio_ug@nbstv@norbertmao Odongo Otto You’re such a miserable human being and I pity those who give you audience. You are actually depressed and you often use our farm to treat your stress.
Regarding M7's vague statement at Kyankwanzi that gave Mao a real chance at being Speaker, the usual prophets of doom had already anticipated it before the end of last year.
