Our Sipi expedition was more than just a trip it was a learning journey through the heart of agriculture and youth potential.
Over 15 young people came together to explore the beauty of Sipi and more importantly to understand practical farming systems and the power of value addition in agriculture in the Elgon sub region the farm walks and discussions with farmers like Bruno from @SeraWildCoffee reminded us that agriculture is not just a livelihood it is a future full of opportunity if well embraced.
We learned how much impact simple practices in farming and post-harvest handling can make and how value addition can turn raw produce into real economic opportunity for young people. The energy, curiosity and questions from the youth made the experience even more powerful.
This is a call to more young people to step out join such learning trips, visit farms, ask questions and see agriculture beyond the classroom or theory. The future of farming will belong to those who choose to experience it firsthand.
Special appreciation goes to @SeraWildCoffee and @salimo_paul from @SipiValley for hosting us so warmly at the farm and resort respectively ,giving us a real hands-on learning experience. Your work is inspiring a generation to see coffee and agriculture differently.
More of these experiences are needed. The future of agriculture is in our hands.
And finally allow me thank the youths that joined me on this trip up next is our coffee meet up event in Kampala on 15th Aug dare not to miss

Many people have always asked me why even with the โmuchโ I have made in the agro business industry and still so accessible and open to helping out even the least person at no cost and here is what I can say ;
As young people in the coffee and cocoa industry, one thing we must learn early is that collaboration will take us much further than competition.
One youth may have strong connections with farmers deep in the villages. Another may understand branding and international markets. Someone else may have access to capital, equipment or transport. Another may know how to process quality coffee and cocoa that can compete globally. None of these strengths are small and none of them are enough alone.
The mistake many young people make is thinking they must do everything by themselves before they can grow. But the truth is, the strongest businesses and movements are built when people combine strengths and move with a shared vision.
If we truly want to transform Ugandaโs coffee and cocoa industry, we must stop seeing each other as competition and start seeing each other as partners in building something bigger than ourselves. The opportunities in this sector are too many for us to fight over crumbs while the global market keeps expanding.
A youth with farmers needs a youth with markets.
A youth with markets needs a youth who understands quality.
A youth with vision sometimes needs a youth with capital.
And all of them need trust to work together.
That is why I am always open to working with different young people across the value chain. I do not care whether you are starting small or already established. If you stand for truth, trust, hard work and genuinely uplifting farmers, then we can build together.
Because at the end of the day, the goal is bigger than personal fame. It is about creating opportunities for young people, improving farmer livelihoods and proving that Uganda can produce not only more coffee and cocoa but better quality and stronger youth-led businesses for the world market.
