Newquay AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Connor Paine! 🙌

Connor came through youth football just outside St Austell before beginning his men’s football with Sticker. At 20, he headed to America to play four years of college football, an experience he credits with shaping him as both a player and a person. He returned to the UK just over a year ago and spent last season with Helston Athletic in the Western League.

He joins us as an all-action midfielder who brings energy, sets standards and drives those around him.

Manager, Shaun Middleton said: “Connor is another quality addition we’ve made this summer. He’s a versatile midfielder who is extremely fit, clean on the ball, and likes to play football the right way. He’ll be a great asset to both the squad and the team.
We can’t wait to start working with Connor, and hopefully he can help drive us on this season.
He’s had a lot of interest from various clubs this summer, so for him to choose us is a great sign of what we’re trying to do at the club.”

Director of Football, Jason Waterman states: “From the moment we spoke to Connor, it was clear he was going to fit in. He brings a real energy and intensity to his game that suits exactly the way we want to play, and that kind of profile in central midfield is invaluable. He’s also just a good person, which matters in a tight-knit group like ours. We’re looking forward to seeing him get started.”

Connor will be hoping to make his mark as we look to build on a first season at Step 5 that turned plenty of heads across the division.

Newquay AFC are delighted to complete the signing of defender, Jacob Kevern!

He spent last season standing out at Step 4. Now he's bringing that to the Mints.
Jacob Kevern joins us from Mousehole AFC and adds real strength to the back line ahead of the new campaign.

Manager, Shaun Middleton said: “He’s a really talented young and versatile defender who is comfortable playing out from the back and is strong defensively. He has an excellent work ethic and is a player we’ve been monitoring for some time. He fits the profile of the club perfectly, and his ambitions align with ours. Having already played at a higher level, he brings valuable experience and has all the attributes to be a great addition to the squad.”

Director of Football Jason Waterman said: "Jacob is someone who caught our eye consistently last season, standing out in a Mousehole side competing at Step 4, which is exactly the level of pedigree we want to be bringing into this squad. He's a player who combines real physicality and athleticism with the ability to play, and that profile is increasingly hard to find at this level. We've tracked him closely and we're genuinely pleased to get this one over the line. We had a strong defensive unit last season and Jacob adds to that considerably as we look to push on this year."
