What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
“TURNSTILE at The Roundhouse. The energy was incredible. You could tell they left all of themselves on the stage and I’m in love with their album 'GLOW ON'.”

“'Cocoon' by Catfish and the Bottlemen. I’m still teenage me, and I’m still obsessed with love and this song just makes me want to be in it all the time.”

Which subcultures have influenced you?
“The DIY scene in America was really where I found a footing for what I could explore as an artist. The punks, hardcore kids and metal scene all took me in with loving arms”

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
“Annette Peacock - tragically underrated, as far as I’m aware she was one of the first musicians to manipulate their voice through a synthesiser... A true pioneer.”

"I really like the Moth Club. But I might just feel nostalgic about it because of all the gigs I’ve seen there."

"King Krule. I think he both had and has the potential to reach millions more with his music, and some of his projects are genius."

"The Specials at The Barrowlands. Best live band in the best venue in the world. 'Ghost Town' was the standout."

“Phyllis Hyman, honestly I feel like she was one of the greatest voices in soul and disco. But she is so rarely spoken of! And once you hear her range, you’re blown away.”

“Masego was the coolest gig I've witnessed. I had so much fun and loved his stage presence. Gigs at small venues always make the experience feel intimate.”

“’Fly Away' by Lenny Kravitz. I heard this on an advert when I was three and instantly loved it. My mum took me to Our Price to buy the CD. I remember it like it was yesterday, obsessed.”
